Asset trackers

LoRaWAN GPS asset trackers for shared equipment

An asset tracker is a battery device fixed to movable equipment. It reports position from GNSS satellites, or Wi-Fi and Bluetooth where satellite signal is weak, plus motion, tilt, temperature and geofence alarms.

Placement

On equipment that moves and gets lost

  • Carts and portable units

Shared items on hospital floors and large campuses.

  • Pumps, generators and tools

High value plant moved between sites and yards.

  • Temperature sensitive stock

Containers that must stay within a range in transit.

Decisions

What the readings let a team decide

  • Find it

Location on the site model cuts time spent searching.

  • Stop removal

Movement or a geofence exit after hours raises an alarm.

  • Plan battery swaps

Reported battery level schedules replacements before a tracker goes quiet.

What is not an asset tracker

Some fixed devices, such as certain cellular level sensors, carry a GNSS receiver only to record where they were installed. Aqueduct treats those as fixed sensors.

Hardware we work with

Device agnostic, with leading manufacturers.

Exact make and model are selected per site. These are some of the manufacturers and standards Aqueduct works with.

Questions

Common questions

It depends on how often the tracker reports. Sending on movement rather than on a fixed timer keeps reports, and battery drain, low. Aqueduct shows each tracker's battery level so replacements are planned before one goes silent. See asset observability.

Not on a covered site. Trackers report through the same LoRaWAN gateways as other sensors, and a cellular option covers equipment that leaves the site, such as generators moved between yards. See gateways.

Yes. Where satellite signal is weak inside a building, the tracker falls back to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth positioning, and its location is shown on the site floor plan in Aqueduct. See aQ Core.

Yes. A geofence exit or movement after hours raises an alarm with the tracker's last position, which helps recover high value pumps, carts and tools before they disappear. See hospitals.
