Airport carbon and water reporting, traced to the meter.
Every accreditation level and every annual report asks where the number came from. Aqueduct keeps the record per terminal, fuel and tenant, so the footprint is not rebuilt from invoices each year.
What each reporting need draws from Aqueduct
| Reporting need | What it asks for | What Aqueduct supplies |
|---|---|---|
| ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation | A carbon footprint of the emissions the airport controls, a reduction record and independent verification | Metered electricity, gas and fuel by building and system, with baselines and verified reductions |
| GHG Protocol Scope 1 and 2 | Fuel burned on site and purchased electricity, heat and cooling | Interval data per meter, gaps flagged, grid factors applied as your team configures |
| Water stewardship | Withdrawal, use, reuse and loss across the campus | A live water balance with reuse and unaccounted loss by zone |
| ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and benchmarking | Annual energy and water use per building | Monthly use per building, ready to enter or export |

Common questions
Airport Carbon Accreditation is a program run by Airports Council International that certifies airports at successive levels for mapping, reducing and managing their carbon emissions, with independent third party verification. Check the current program guidance for the requirements of each level.
No. Aqueduct supplies measured evidence and a verified reduction record. Your sustainability team or consultant prepares the carbon footprint, and accreditation is awarded through the program and its independent verifiers.
Tenant and concession sub-meters are reconciled to the main meters. Tenant use can then be reported separately from the energy and water the airport controls directly, which matters because accreditation focuses on emissions the operator controls.
Yes. Every terminal and plant item feeds metered fuel and power readings into Aqueduct, with missing days flagged, so the inventory starts from readings. The inventory owner chooses the emission factors and checks the totals before they go to the verifier. See GHG Protocol.
